Renshaw signs with Rabobank. A new Bos?

A better Bos?

News that Mark Renshaw, the best lead-out man in the world, has signed a two year deal with Rabobank raised an amusing question.

Is Theo Bos the new Mark Cavendish?

While Renshaw showed he can win his own sprints and will have his own opportunities at Rabobank, the prospect of him leading out the fast improving Bos is an intriguing one.

Bos has continued his progression from Olympic silver medalist on the track and a and world champion in the sprint, kilo and keirin. This season he won two stages in the Tour of Oman and just the other day a stage in the Tour of Denmark.

Still, he’s got a ways to go to become a top sprinter. We’re thinking Renshaw has plenty of experience to pass on. It doesn’t seem a big surprise to discover he’s excited about the Bathurst Bulldog heading his way.

“Mark is the best lead-out man in the world. I’m really thrilled that Renshaw has chosen to sign for us,” said Bos. “The partnership with Mark will help me in my development.”

There’s a fast train waiting for Cavendish at Team Sky. But next year watch out for the new Bos.
