Bontrager-Trek’s Mannion at the summit.

Exhausted.

Gavin Mannion of Bontrager-Trek somehow ended up on left gutter on the climb up Mt. Diablo.

Just past the finish he was as wiped out as a young rider on a development ream can possibly be. Spit trailing off his chin, his right lower leg bleeding from a crash.

We caught him just past the summit finish engaged in a conversation with a young BMC rider. Gavin: “I wasn’t fighting you.” BMC rider: “You okay? Shit happens.”

A conversation.

Trek, weren’t they the ones who used to sponsor Armstrong. I remember them. Where’s my LeMond bike.

Hey, Lemond is back in the bike business and he says he’ll have something for the road in the next year or two, Matt
