Armstrong to throw Truth & Reconciliation party?

Truth & Reconciliation Evite.

Do we need a Truth & Reconciliation tribunal to air all past doping transgressions? A Once-And-For-All hot shower that washes away the dirty and filth? A come to Jesus moment for all the sinners to raise their hand and ask for absolution?

Well, the event has already been scheduled. Twisted Spoke has learned that invitations have already been sent to pro riders around the world. The Truth & Reconciliation party will take place on November 10th and is hosted by none other than once-seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong.

Evite details.

The guest list includes riders past and present with special “team” tables for US Postal, ONCE, Festina and T-Mobile. However, the invitees are not limited to riders but also soigneurs, team physicians, couriers and personal assistants.

After cocktails, there will be a welcome speech given by the world-renowned Dr. Michele Ferrari followed by a sit-down dinner at Armstrong’s ranch outside Austin, Texas. There will be an awards ceremony and a special certificate for “best story-telling.”

Already confirming their attendance are Saxo Bank-Tinkoff’s Bjarne Riis, dashing Puerto villan Eufemiano Fuentes, former classics superstar Johan Museeuw, ONCE team manager Manolo Saiz and Riccardo Ricco. As part of the festivities, the ex-Cobra will be screening the seminal 60’s comedy Putney Swope and offering his thoughts on the film’s satire of advertising, racial stereotypes and the white power structure.

Guest of honor USADA CEO Travis Tygart will also be the target of a pie-throwing contest to raise money for ousting UCI president Patrick McQuaid. Still up in the air — a possible duet with the Boss and Betsy Andreu singing “Stand By Your Man.”

Ed, as always, the goal of TS is to find the entertainment and human comedy to the grand sport of pro bike racing. There’s plenty of funny stuff out there. Matt
