Giro style?

While the extensive wind tunnel work done by Pierre Rolland yielded nothing but positive results, Cannondale teammate Rigoberto Uran wasn’t so lucky.

The Colombian GC rider suffered a major change in hairstyle after the buckle on his aero helmet accidentally snapped   while the winds in the tunnel inexplicably hit maximum speeds. The helmet flew off, exposing his hair to winds approaching 60mph.

Technicians at the tunnel, located just outside Carlsbad, Colorado, were at a loss to explain how the winds suddenly ramped up to gale force. Uran’s bike was blow backwards and only the quick action of two control room personal saved him from even greater danger.

While considering himself lucky, Uran admitted his hair was a crazy mess. “For sure, it is different now and for a few hours I was not happy,” he said. “But know I find, I like the new style. It is very devil-may-care.”

Uran is in steady training for his tilt at the Giro d’Italia this May. He will lead the Cannondale squad and hopes to make the podium again and perhaps win this time. The only hiccup so fair in his program has been the hair mishap. However the Colombian thinks the new hair style may gives him something he’s been lack.

“I need more style and energy, a youthful, fun appearance. I think my new look say’s I’m bold and unafraid,” said Uran. “That is how I must approach the Giro.”
