Andy Schleck adds second brother to Trek squad?

Andy to welcome Willy?

Andy Schleck is excited and looking forward to racing again with his brother Frank. Now, it appears, there is a second brother who will also support Andy in his quest to win the Tour de France.

According to Trek team officials, little brother William will also join the squad. The unexpected existence of a third brother –Willy, as he is called by Andy and Frank — is a total surprise to the cycling world.

“We did now want to put too much pressure on him so we kept him hidden until now,” said a delighted Andy from the teams’ first training camp in Spain. “He is a climber like Frank and I so we can now count on the three of us riding together in the Alps.”

Willy Schleck will take his place as a new-pro on the former RadioShack squad now run by Trek. He was not made available for the media however his low-profile is sure to end shortly.

“He is not a fisherman like Frank and I,” said Andy. “He prefers to play his guitar and so journalists haven’t heard us talk about him. However, he decided this last season that he wants to join his big brothers at the Tour de France.”

The prospect of another strong climber by the name of Schleck will boost the odds of Andy beating Sky and Chris Froome. “There is only one Froome in the race, this we can see and we have counted very carefully,” said Frank. “We already have a numerical superiority of a certain kind. With Willy at our side, we will have three cards to play against Sky.”

At 25 years of age, Will Schleck is the baby of the Schleck clan. “He took a different route and went to university to study economics,” recounts Frank. “However, after watching us ride in France, he started training and before we knew it, he was dropping us on our favorite climbs.”

It’s a more than marginal gain that may eventually land Andy Schleck on the top of the Tour de France podium. “We have already shown that with Frank by my side, anything is possible. Now, with Willy, we are stronger than ever.”

Three riders that can’t ride in the rain. On the plus side, there will be more people playing for good weather during the Tour.

He has three brothers, but Andy is the youngest. His older brother Fränk Schleck was also a cyclist on RadioShack-Leopard, and his oldest brother Steve Schleck is a politician in Luxembourg. Unless this is a Onion-type post and just supposed to be funny . . .
