Oregon Manifest. The future of the utility bike.

It's all good in Oregon.

The rich irony is that the world is upside down: China races to see how many cars they can out on the road while back in the USA people try to figure out how to get people out of cars before it’s too late.

One of the best places to find the inspiration and hope is at the Oregon Manifest. We had never heard of the event until we read Bicycling Magazine’s Bill Strickland and his story.

Each year the Oregon Manifest sets a challenge to see who can create and build the most wondrous utility bikes. The results are pretty exciting and we may yet become Belgium.

For now, it’s best to revel in the inventions, praise the winners and look forward to the world changing because in short order we may be even deeper in the Great Depression.
