Kitsbow designs and manufactures very cool, high-end mountain bike apparel. Based in Northern California, they’ve carved out a niche based on craft, thoughtful detailing, superb technical fabrics and smart writing and photography.
In short, over the last few years they’ve built a strong brand and a strong following. They’re a wise template for any company looking to start from scratch and enter the cycling apparel marketplace.
As someone who spends almost all his time on the road, I’ve been hoping Kitsbow would eventually branch out and provide us asphalt aficionados the same delicious goodies. They did that last year and I’ve been thinking about picking up their Coleman Bib Short ever since.
They’ve put together a solid road collection at this point with bib, jersey, arm and leg warmers, windbreaker, socks and base layer. Stuff looks great and once my bank account recovers from buying my new road bike, I’ll have funds for some Kitsbow.
If you’re not in financial recovery mode like myself, perhaps you can skip the waiting and check out their road apparel. Like Cafe du Cyclist, it’s a company that knows exactly where they’re headed and it’s exciting to watch them go.
