Garmin and Tide. Cleaning up at US Pro Challenge.

Garmin-Cervelo and Tide. Cleaning up at the races.

Garmin-Cervelo is a top ProTour team with some serious talent on and off the bike. At any moment in time, you can see the machine in operation: riders winning races, mechanics cleaning bikes, Vaughters choosing wardrobe and in this case, Garmin cleaning up.

This photo was taken mere minutes after the mountaintop finish in Crested Butte at the US Pro Cycling Challenge. One of the challenges being keeping everyone’s kit clean and ready for action the next day.

You can see the high level logistics in operation and it’s a wondrous sight to behold. You don’t win stages in the Tour and Giro and Paris-Roubaix unless you’re prepared to clean up and do it fast.

It’s just another distinct difference between ProTour and Pro Continental: the cleanliness standards for athletic apparel.

Massage, team dinner, everyone in the washing machine. Tom Danielson and Christian Vande Velde ready to rock in dazzling and hygienic jersey and bib shorts.

That’s how you win the big races.
