The race announcer welcomed fans to the mountain. But no it wasn’t the Big Bear, high altitude, around the mountain lake time trial.
It was the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park time trial. All “ride” analogies apply and there are at least a dozen. Have fun with that.
Short, flat, what? Six miles? An almost prologue in the middle of the Tour of California but upside, no snow, rain, disaster.
We arrived early and spent the day in the parking lot of Six Flags soaking up ambiance and being surrounded by hyper fit 20 somethings. In terms of fat composition and body weight, we were not impressed with ourselves. It could have been worse — there were no beer sales and so we were forced to do with bottled water.
However, we did get some nice portraits and as they say in France, voila.
