China reacts angrily to Li Fuyu suspension by Radio Shack.

Fuyu. Fool me.

Chinese officials took immediate action when Radio Shack suspended Chinese rider Li Fuyu for a positive doping test.

“This has nothing to do with Li taking the banned substance Clenbuterol,” said Huang Zhe. “Radio Shack trying to discredit Chinese consumer electronic industry by saying Chinese rider not good enough. We will not accept this action.”

The UCI provisionally suspended Li Fuyu after a sample taken at Dwaars Door Vlaanderen contained traces of Clenbuterol, a banned substance sometimes used as a weight-loss drug and anabolic agent.

Radio Shack officials refused to comment on Chinese allegations that punishing Li Fuyu was a slap in the face for China dumping billions of dollars of cheap electronics into Radio Shack’s markets.

Already stung by an embarrassing public battle with Google over internet surveillance and illegal hacking into private Google accounts, China wasted no time firing back at Radio Shack and even its superstar Lance Armstrong.

“China make Texas look like small island. Radio Shack old bully boy. We invent wheel, fireworks, we make own best search engine,” said Zhe.

The Chinese Cycling Federation, taking a cue from the defiant Spanish cycling federation, may refuse to sanction Fuyu. “Fuyu next Valverde — you see, Western lie spreader,” said Zhe.

Matt Walsh, master blaster of the twisted world of cycling. at his best.

But don’t be surprised if there’s a knock on the front door in the middle of the night. The Chinese mafia works in mysterious ways. Or, maybe you just won’t hear a thing.

Yes, the CHinese government isn’t known for a sense of humor. I’ll just remind them I adopted my daughter from China.

This is such a typical reaction by the Chinese. Ridiculous.

Hey Aaron, it’s all tongue in cheek. Li Fuyu was suspended for doping but I made up th rest. There’s a lot of Onion-esque fake comedy posts on my blog. Thanks for reading and writing in. Matt

Henkio, so funny you wrote in. I actually wondered where you'd been this morning, you being such a regular reader. Good to here from you and a funny comment. I almost threw in a Chinese gymnast thing. Who do you like for Liege?

Hi Matt, thanks for using my photo, probably not that many of Fuyu in RS kit around. He seems a nice guy and in his defence, Clenbuterol is in cold and allergy medicine, but we dont know how much he had taken? But then any ammount is a positive. If you read the side-effects you wouldnt take it.

The good news is that the Chinese are going to stop making cheep, crap electric goods till its all sorted…OK maybe not!

It’s clear to me that Vino and Contador will cross the line celebrating together. With Vino coming in first naturally.

If this dream vision doesn’t come true it’s Schlecklet, J-Rod, Cuddles or your big hero El Imbatido 🙂

    OH YEAH!

Vino won! Don’t make some bitter blog post. Just let it it slide this time Matt, for me and my hero 🙂

According to the drug page on wikipedia, it has been known to turn up in people as a result of its use on farm animals in China. Is there any chance that Li got it from some some sweet and sour pork?
